
Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad Indigenous Scholarships For Phd 2020
Applications are invited from outstanding Pakistani/AJK nationals who intend to complete PhD from Pakistani Higher Education Commission (HEC) recognized universities/Degree Awarding Institutions (DAIs). The scholarships are being offered in all areas of studies/disciplines under the project titled Indigenous PhD Fellowships for 5000 Scholars— Phase-II’ Batch-VI in the following four categories.
- Enrolled in PhD
- Master, M.Phil (18 Years Completed)
- Master/M.Phil (18 Years Enrolled)
- Bachelors:Masters (16 Years Completed) .com
Basic Eligibility Criteria
- a. Pakistani/AjK nationals
- b. For MS/MPhil, the candidates must have minimum 16 years of education at the closing date of application i.e. March 28, 2020 with no 3rd Division or Grade-D in degrees/certificates during entire academic career.
- c. Candidates applying for direct PhD scholarships must have minimum CGPA 3 (out of 4)1st Division in annual system in MS/MPhil or equivalent degree
- d. Maximum age at the above-mentioned closing date of application: i-e 40 years for full time regular faculty members of public sector universities/DAIs and regular employees of the public sector/R&D organisations. ii. 35 years for all others
- e. The candidates who are already availing any other HEC/Government scholarships are NOT eligible to apply.
- f. Applicants enrolled in a MS/PhD programme before Spring 2018 semester are not eligible to apply.
- g. This offer of scholarships is valid for fultime regular students, while in case of employment, study leave will be required for full duration of study programme.
Application Procedure
–>a. Applicants are required to submit only online application through (eportal.hec.gotpk). Hard copy of applications and any other documents are not required at this stage
–>b. Fee deposit slip/ATM transfer slip of Rs. 500/- (nonrefundable) must be submitted as application processing fee in favor of Director General, Finance. HEC. Fee can be deposited in the account No. 1742-79001334-01, Habib Bank Limited. Candidates are strongly advised to keep and preserve their original fee deposit slips which will be required at later stage.
Higher Education Commission Aptitude Test:
• An aptitude test (HAT) will be conducted by HEC.
• Candidates applying through online process will be sent roll number slips through email.
• SMS will also be sent to registered applicants for test date and time. While filling online application form the candidates are required to provide raid email/mobile numbers for reception of roll number
slips.

Important Notes
• Discipline-wise and Federal Government Provincial Quota policy will be applicable for award of scholarship& However the regions/provinces where seats as per Federal Government Quota have already been consumed in previous batches, such applicants would have equal opportunity to compete on merit slots.
• Disability quota (2%) will be applicable on provision of valid disability certificate issued by the concerned authority.
• Scholarships will be governed through ‘Terms & Conditions’ placed at HEC Indigenous 5000 Scholarship
• Merit list of scholarship will be prepared on the basis of online information/data provided by the applicants and in case of any retrogression or misrepresentation the offer would be cancelled.
• Students entitled for scholarship are required to enroll in those departments of universities/DAls which are approved and meeting Indigenous Scholarship and HEC Quality Assurance Criteria to run the MS/MPhil/PhD Program available at HEC website. However, HECs Competent Authority/National Scholarship Management Committee (NSMC) reserves the right to award scholarships in selected disciplines/subjects as well as against selected universities/institutes/departments in order to Mill
national needs and to maintain Quality Standards.
• HEC reserves the right to select or reject applicants on the basis of selection criteria approved by National Scholarship Management Committee (NSMC).
• In case of any omission/misrepresentation will not be responsible and reserves the right to reject the applicants at any stage.
• It will be mandatory for selected candidates to complete PhD under the scholarship programme after fulfilling the entire requirement for award of MS/MPhil degree before enrollment into PhD programme.
